New Delhi: The Periodic Labour Force Survey data indicated a decline in the unemployment rate to 3.2 per cent in 2022-23. The youth employment has risen, with the unemployment rate for aged 15-29 years declining from 17.8 per cent in 2017-18 to 10 per cent in 2022-23. Female labour force participation has also increased due to growth in agriculture output and improved access to basic amenities. Rural wages grew at over 5 per cent annually in FY24, benefiting from robust agricultural growth.
