Youth shot dead by car-borne assailants in Maqboolpura

A youth was shot dead last night in street number 6 of Maqboolpura area. The deceased was identified as Gurpreet Singh. The incident occurred when Gurpreet was outside his house, and 4-5 youths came in a car and opened fire. He received four bullets and was badly injured. Gurpreet was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The police have launched an investigation and registered a case against the assailants. The family claimed that the suspects were identified as Sachin, Ronnie, Bablu Khatri and some unidentified individuals.

According to Gurpreet’s mother, Charanjit Kaur, her son had a verbal dispute with some local youths four days back. The police is investigating the matter and have assured that action will be taken based on the statements of the family members.

Gurpreet Singh is survived by his wife and two daughters. The incident has sent shock waves in the area. SHO, Maqboolpura, Harparkash Singh said that the police is working to apprehend the accused after registering a case.
