A youth of Field Ganj died under mysterious circumstances on Thursday. When the youth started bleeding from his nose, his family took him to the Civil Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The family are suspecting the role of one of their relative in the alleged murder.

The deceased has been identified as Suraj Kumar. A board of doctors will conduct the postmortem of the body to find the exact cause of death.

Suraj’s sister said that her brother worked as a garland maker. This morning he went to a gurdwara to pay obeisance. When he returned, his nose was bleeding. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased’s sister suspected her brother had an old rivalry with their relative’s son due to which they were suspecting him. When Suraj was on the way to his home, he was cornered by the accused who punched and kicked him in his face and stomach which led to his death, she alleged.

The SHO, police division 2, Inspector Gurjeet Singh, said that the police was investigating the case from different angles. Those who are being accused of murder were also being questioned. The CCTV cameras installed in the area were scanned to get some clues.

Regarding this case, ACP Anil Bhanot stated that the deceased’s family termed it murder and suspected the role of a deceased’s relative, but the police probe couldn’t find any murder angle in the death. “Still for the satisfaction of the deceased’s family, a board of doctors will conduct a postmortem of the deceased and further action will be taken accordingly in the case,” he added.
