Youth Cong chief slams CM Mann for ‘misusing’ NRI quota

Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) chief Mohit Mohindra on Wednesday slammed the Mann government for misusing the MBBS seats meant for general category students to benefit certain individual candidates by changing the definition of NRI for 15 per cent reserved quota.

He welcomed the judgment of the Supreme Court, which termed the government’s move on NRI quota as a “complete fraud” and “money-spinning machine”.

Mohindra added that Punjab Government had tried to deprive large number of aspirants from taking admission into medical colleges.

He  said earlier the Punjab and Haryana High Court had rejected the state government’s appeal.

The PYC chief said CM Mann had been making tall claims of providing quality education to Punjabis, but he’s jeopardising admission process of medical colleges.
