Yamunanagar admn prepares for Kapal Mochan Mela
The administration is busy making preparations for the successful organisation of the inter-state ‘Shri Kapal Mochan-Shri Adi Badri Mela’.
The mela will be held in Bilaspur town of Yamunanagar district from Nov 11 to Nov 15. About 8-10 lakh devotees arrive here from Punjab, Haryana and other states to take bath in the three holy sarovars on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.

The mela will be held in Bilaspur town of Yamunanagar district from November 11 to 15. The exhibition and cultural programme of Shri Kapal Mochan-Shri Adi Badri Mela would be formally inaugurated on November 11.
Dip in holy sarovars

Mela Administrator-cum-SDM, Bilaspur, Jaspal Singh Gill held a meeting with the officials of the Food and Drug Administration Department in the Shrine Board office located at Surajkund in the mela premises.
In the meeting, he asked the officials of the Food and Drug Administration Department to run a special campaign in the mela area so that the sale of banned drugs could be curbed.
He said the medical stores running in and around the mela area should also be checked from time to time to ensure that no intoxicant could be sold anywhere in the mela.
He further said that under the guidance of Chief Administrator of the Shrine Board, Bilaspur-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Yamunanagar Capt Manoj Kumar, the arrangements were in progress.
He said that the exhibition and cultural programme of Shri Kapal Mochan-Shri Adi Badri Mela would be formally inaugurated on November 11. He further said that the mela area would be monitored through CCTV and drone cameras.
“A first-aid centre will be set up in each sector of the mela and 24-hour services will be provided in these first-aid centres so that the devotees can get immediate first-aid service if required,” said Mela Administrator Jaspal Singh Gill.
He said that samples of food items would be taken from time to time during the mela.
The Mela Administrator further said that efforts would be made to provide maximum facilities to the devotees coming for Kapal Mochan Mela.
He added that all arrangements related to cleanliness, medicines, temporary toilets, drinking water, repair of roads, electricity, food material, milk supply, barricading, police arrangements and other necessary arrangements would be completed on time.
He said that proper arrangements would be made by the Police Department to maintain law and order in the entire mela area, which would be divided into four sectors.
