Yamunanagar gets representation in Haryana Cabinet with Shyam Singh Rana’s induction
Shyam Singh Rana, a Rajput leader and Radaur MLA, took oath as a Cabinet Minister in Haryana on Thursday, marking a significant milestone for Yamunanagar district. This development follows his impressive win in the 2024 Assembly election, where he defeated three-time MLA Bishan Lal Saini by a substantial margin of 13,249 votes. Rana secured 73,117 votes, while Saini garnered 59,868 votes.
This isn’t Rana’s first victory; he was elected MLA on the BJP ticket in 2014, defeating Raj Kumar Bubka. He also served as BJP district president and Chief Parliamentary Secretary.
Rana’s appointment is a historic first for Radaur, according to BJP leaders Sushil Batra, Dharm Singh Banchal, Raj Kumar Sharma, Pushpender Gurjar, and Devender Saini. “Shyam Singh Rana is a public man who connects with people by listening to their problems during morning walks in his constituency,” Batra praised.
Celebrations erupted in Radaur town, with BJP workers distributing sweets and dancing to drums.
Notably, Jagadhri MLA Kanwar Pal Gujjar held key positions in previous BJP governments, including Haryana Assembly Speaker and Cabinet Minister with portfolios like Education.
Rana’s induction brings representation to Yamunanagar district in the newly formed Haryana Cabinet.
