Yamunanagar Bar Association decides not to represent accused in sexual abuse, murder cases of 2 minor girls
District Bar Association in Jagadhri, Yamunanagar, has decided not to represent both the accused persons in sexual abuse and murder cases of two minor girls.
President Arun Dhanda said that they had taken the decision as a moral and social responsibility against the heinous crime committed by the accused persons.
“It is unanimously resolved that no member or advocate from the District Bar Association in Jagadhri (Yamunanagar) shall represent the accused persons in these cases, nor will any form of assistance be provided,” said Arun.
As per available information, Rajesh (27) of a village falling under Chhachhrauli police station allegedly killed a six-year-old girl of his village after sexually abusing her.
The dead body of the girl was found lying in a sugarcane field late Friday night. After postmortem, the body was cremated on Saturday.
SHO Chhachhrauli Rohtash Singh police station said that the accused was arrested and he was produced before a court here on Sunday.
The court sent him to one day police custody, he added.
Rohtash further said that a case under Sections 65 (2) and 66 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act had been registered against him.
He added that earlier a case of theft had been registered against the accused in 2022.
It is the second case of heinous crime in the district in the past one week.
Earlier, a seven-year-old girl had been murdered by her neighbour in Buria town of the district after allegedly sexually abusing her.
Her dead body was found lying in an orchard of mango, situated close to Buria town on September 19.
The accused Naresh allegedly involved in this case was arrested by the Buria police.
