Houston: A Texas woman has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of threatening a Florida judge who is overseeing the criminal case against Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents. The Justice Department said Tiffani Gish, 50, left voicemails threatening to kill District Judge Aileen Cannon, while claiming to be a member of several military combat units. She was also sentenced to three years of supervised release. AP

Indian-origin S’porean jailed for harassment

Singapore: A 47-year-old Indian-origin man was on Friday sentenced to five months in jail for having forced another man to strip and perform several exercises for not paying his inflated debt of about SGD 6,000. A similar charge and a charge of voluntarily causing hurt were also taken into consideration for sentencing Nadeson Pillai Sockalingam Pillai. His two Indian-origin friends have also been charged with intimidation. PTI

2 dead as plane attempts emergency landing

Florida: Two people died after a small plane attempted to make an emergency landing on Interstate 75 in southwest Florida on Friday afternoon, colliding with a vehicle and bringing traffic to a halt as a massive plume of black smoke rose into the air. Collier County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Adam Fisher confirmed two deaths. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate, with the latter leading the investigation. AP
