US President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris led Americans in celebrating Diwali on Thursday.

“This Diwali, may we show the power in the gathering of light..... The light for freedom, for democracy, for an America where anything is possible,” Biden said in a post on X. Earlier this week, he hosted the largest ever Diwali at the White House. “Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating the Festival of Lights!,”said Harris on X.

Meanwhile, Hindu Americans applauded Trump for promising to protect the human rights of Hindus across the world, including the US and Bangladesh and protect them from the “anti-religion agenda of the radical left.” “Under my administration, we will also strengthen our great partnership with India and my good friend, Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi,” Trump said.
