Pilot killed as small plane crashes in US
Little Rock: The pilot of a small plane was killed when it crashed at Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, US authorities said. The Cirrus SR 22 took off from the airport on Sunday afternoon. The pilot, William Cope, 62, declared an emergency and then crashed north of the airport’s cargo building, authorities said. The pilot was the only person on board and died on the spot. AP
Lankan Tamils seek Indian help on 13A
Colombo: Sri Lankan Tamil legislators have sought India’s intervention to ensure that Colombo fully implements the New Delhi-mooted 13th Amendment, which provides for the devolution of power to the minority community, a source said. They met Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha on Monday, said the source from the Tamil National Alliance, which represents Sri Lanka’s Tamil minority. The two-hour-long talks were centred on the 13A.
