Eight people arrested for black marketing face mask in Nepal
Kathmandu, March 15
At least eight people have been arrested in Kathmandu on Sunday for their involvement in black marketing of face masks and sanitisers in the wake of the deadly coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Those arrested were preparing to sell a face mask worth Rs 3 at Rs 31, ten times higher the rate, according to Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle.
“They were held while they were supplying 78,200 pieces of face masks from China to be sold at the higher rates,” police said.
The group of eight in the name of ‘Manju Shree Suppliers’ was found to have been involved in selling face masks and sanitisers at higher rates.
Arrested from Dallu in the capital, a case will be filed against them under black marketing offence.
There is currently one confirmed virus case in Nepal. — PTI
