Yamunanagar: BJP workers are happy these days because the party formed the government for the third consecutive time in the state. Some workers of the Radaur Assembly constituency in Yamunanagar district are happy as they got a chance to eat jalebi with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The Chief Minister suddenly stopped at a sweets shop in Radaur town of Yamunanagar district on Saturday evening while going to Chandigarh from Ladwa town of Kurukshetra district. He, along with some party workers, including Nepal Rana, son of newly elected Radaur BJP MLA Shyam Singh Rana, ate jalebis at the sweets shop. Nepal Rana said the Chief Minister lived life like a common man and gave respect to every person, including every party worker.

Infighting among BJP leaders

Mahendragarh: Infighting among BJP leaders came to fore after the declaration of the Assembly election results when newly elected BJP MLA from Mahendragarh Kanwar Singh Yadav accused party veteran Ram Bilas Sharma of attempting to spoil his elections. “I cannot forget it,” he said. Interestingly, in a video message, Sharma, instead of hitting back on him, not only congratulated Yadav for his victory but also requested him to make efforts to get pending development projects done in the area. Sharma was denied the party ticket this time. So, he was not seen active in the Mahendragarh constituency during the elections.

War of words continues

Ambala: The elections are over, but BJP and Congress leaders continue to engage in a war of words in Ambala City. In a bid to keep the morale of supporters and party workers high, both former Ambala City BJP MLA Aseem Goel and newly elected Congress MLA Nirmal Singh held meetings with respective workers to express their gratitude. During the meetings, the duo targeted opposition leaders and called upon party workers ‘not to be afraid of them’. The duo stated that they would give a ‘befitting reply’ to opposition leaders if they harassed party workers.

No ‘chaudhar’ for Rohtak

Rohtak: Residents of Rohtak and nearby districts, especially members of the Jat community, are disappointed at former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda not getting the reins of the state this time. The local residents were expecting that the Congress would form the government in Haryana and Rohtak would get the chaudhar with Hooda becoming the Chief Minister. However, their hopes were dashed as the BJP regime got reinstalled in the state. “It is as if the Congress leadership was just about to savour the jalebi (of power), but somehow missed the chance,” quipped a local Congress supporter.

Political stunt or genuine concerns!

Faridabad: Holding meetings with officials or issuing directions by some of the newly elected MLAs of the ruling party gave rise to speculations on the motives behind the action mode. According to a section of political analysts, resorting to such an action could be premature and a kind of political stunt as the newly elected MLAs and the state cabinet are yet to take oath and charge of the governance formally. It is claimed that such a move could perhaps be aimed at giving a message to the people that they have elected the right candidates as they had already swung into action to resolve the issues related to the common man as soon as possible. On the other hand, some tend to believe this action should be taken positively as people were devoid of basic amenities.
