Women outnumbered men in voter turnout at 12 polling booths, while equated with them at one polling booth in the Gidderbaha Assembly constituency on Wednesday. There are 173 polling booths in this constituency, of which 37 are in Gidderbaha town and the rest are across 52 villages.

Congress candidate Amrita Warring was the only woman out of the 14 candidates in the election. Amrita said, “I appreciate that a large number of women are coming to vote. Further, I am happy to say that I am the first woman candidate fielded by any political party in the history of Gidderbaha.”
