Women Farmers Day celebrated

The Agriculture Department celebrated Women Farmers Day in Basantpur block, near here, today.

An award giving programme was also organised for the excellent work done in natural farming by women farmers of Basantpur block. Chief guest Besardas Harnot, Chairman of the Krishak Advisory Committee, Basantpur, praised the “excellent work” and contribution of women farmers to promoting natural farming. He appealed to everyone to adopt and encourage the Natural Farming Promotion Scheme being run by the state government at the grass-roots level.

Project Director Devi Chand Kashyap also urged people to take up natural farming in a big way. He thanked the farmers and shared detailed information about the schemes being run by the state government.

This award is given every year to an agricultural entrepreneur for doing exemplary work in natural farming.
