Women entrepreneurs to get Rs 3L loans under special scheme, says DC
Deputy Commissioner Dr Yash Garg said the Haryana Matrishakti Udyamita Yojana had been implemented by the Haryana Government through the Haryana Mahila Vikas Nigam to make women self-reliant in rural and urban areas. Under this scheme, loans of up to Rs 3 lakh were provided through banks to improve their economic and social status. He said a target to give loans to 40 beneficiaries in district Panchkula had been set.
Garg said, under the scheme, women who had an annual family income of less than Rs 5 lakh were eligible for a loan and that at the time of applying for it, they had to be between 18 to 60 years old. He said on paying the installment on time seven per cent interest subsidy amount would be given by the Haryana Women Development Corporation for three years. Under the scheme, all activities except daring, negative activities included in the list of Industries Department and KVIB were included, he said.
The DC said under the scheme women could start a business in driving an auto rickshaw, beauty parlor, tailoring, photo copy shop, pickle makingetc.
