Woman loses Rs 4 lakh in cyber fraud
A woman was allegedly duped of over Rs 4 lakh by cyber fraudsters in the name of an online task.
According to the complaint filed by Rinki Singh, she said on October 10, she saw an advertisement on Instagram which was about earning money by doing tasks sitting at home. When Rinki clicked on the link given on the advertisement, a person directed her on WhatsApp. She started following the steps as directed by him. She was linked to a Telegram group and given a link and asked to create an account on it. After this, she was asked to purchase three products online. “When I asked how long she had to do this shopping, I was told to keep doing it until she got the task. After this, due to some reason, I checked her bank account and found some suspicious transactions in it. The fraudsters made a total transaction of Rs 4,69,752 from my IndusInd Bank account several transactions,” Rinki said in her complaint.
