Three persons, including a woman and her children, suffered burn injuries after a fire broke out at their house in Padhiana village of Adampur on Friday.
The victims, identified as Meenu, her four-year-old daughter Nishtha and 1.5-year-old son Prabhu, are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital here.
Neighbours said after hearing screams yesterday morning, they rushed towards the house. When they reached the spot, they found that a fire broke out in the house. They shifted the trio, who suffered burn injuries, to a government hospital in Adampur where they were administered first aid. Owing to their critical condition, they were referred to the Civil Hospital, Jalandhar.
The villagers said Meenu’s husband, who was working in Dubai, had passed away recently and she was upset since then. The police and fire department teams found a broken LPG pipe at the house.
A petrol pipe of the bike was also found unplugged at
the house.
Adampur SHO Ravinder Pal Singh said further investigations were on.
