A 38-year-old woman was killed and her two minor sons received injuries when the scooty they were riding on was reportedly hit by a truck that was coming from another direction in Sector 24 here on Saturday morning.

The victim has been identified as Aarti Bhati, a resident of Sector 22 here. While the boys escaped with minor injuries, the woman came under the wheel of the truck, it is claimed.

When the woman died on the spot, the truck driver, who is yet to be identified, was nabbed by locals and handed over to the police. A case has been registered against the truck driver and a probe launched into the case.
