Woman, brother-in-law found hanging
A tragic incident occurred in the Dhandari Kalan area near here on Saturday, where a woman, Durga Kumari, and her brother-in-law Prem Chand were found hanging. According to the police, Durga had come to Ludhiana from her village a few days ago and was staying with her brother-in-law.
The police said Durga’s husband Dharminder Kumar worked at a factory and the couple had a daughter.
The police investigation revealed that Durga and Prem Chand were found hanging in the room. The incident came to the fore when Durga’s child started crying and a neighbour came to check up on them.
The police sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination and started a probe into the matter. The police are also questioning family members and neighbours to find out the cause of death.
The post-mortem examination report is awaited, which will help determine the cause of death.
