The Sidhwan Bet police station on Friday registered a case against 30 persons, including nine unidentified assailants, who attacked a woman over an old enmity.
Complainant Parkash Kaur told the police that on November 6 at around 3.45 pm that the assailants while carrying sharp weapons with the intention of killing the former sarpanch Surjit Singh and his family members entered his house where they also cornered her and attacked her.
The complainant added that assailants hit her with an iron bar which caused injury on her lip, head and tooth.
The booked accused have been identified as Surjit Singh, Charanjit Singh, Narinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Satnam Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Sandeep Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Kuldeep Kaur, Manjit Kaur, Simran Kaur,Reshma, Gagandeep Singh, Jaswant Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Sukhdev Singh all residents of Gorsian Khan Mohd, Buta Singh of Akkuwal village and nine unidentified assailants.
Meanwhile, on the complaint of Reshma one of the accused, the police also registered a cross case against the accused identified as Surjit Singh, Balkar Singh, Hardeep Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Jagdev Singh, Baldev Singh, Akash, Karan, Gurmeet Singh, Pyara Singh, Kartar Singh, Navdeep Singh, Simran, Manjit Kaur, Rupa, Bimla, Jasvir and six unidentified assailants. The complainant said on November 6, when she was heading back home after delivering tea to the workers engaged in paddy harvesting, she was attacked by the accused.
The police said further investigation was on in the case.
