With 96.25%, Gautam Jojra tops Jalandhar in ISC Class XII exams

Gautam Jojra topped the ISC Class XII examinations with 96.25 per cent marks while Samarvir Singh and Chetan Bisht bagged second positions in the city by scoring 94.20 per cent each. Binwant Singh stood third with 94 per cent marks. All of them are from St Joseph’s Boys’ School, Defence Colony. The results were declared by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) here on Sunday evening.
Gautam Jojra, a medical student aims to be a neurosurgeon. “My NEET exam went fine too. I am hopeful that I will get a good rank. My brother is also pursuing MBBS,” Jojra said.
The topper who has made his parents proud is not only academically inclined, but is a swimmer too. “I have always enjoying swimming as a hobby,” he shared.
Rakesh Kumar, Gautam’s father is a senior bank manager. His happiness knew no bound when he got to know about the son’s results. “While he was preparing for the exams, I noticed that he never took any stress which was satisfying for me,” he said, adding that he knew his son would score well just like his elder son.
Gautam shared that apart from attending lectures carefully in the class, he prepared online too. Second and third position holders Samarvir Singh and Binwant Singh, respectively, are brothers. Both have attained ranks in non-medical stream. While Samarvir wants to pursue his career in robotics, Binwant wants to be an aeronautical engineer. Their father Manjit Singh is an academic head in the Akal Academy. Both the brothers attained positions through self-study and without any tuition. Samarvir shared that since the duo (Him and Binwant) scored so well, the parents had been receiving congratulatory messages since evening.
Chetan Bisht who shares the second spot with Samarvir by getting same percentage is also from the non-medical stream. He wants to do engineering in computer science. Bisht took coaching from Aakash Institute.
Bisht’s father Col Rohit Bisht is in the Army. Bisht shared that even before the examination he was not stressed at all. “I was clear that stress only causes trouble and I had my basics clear,” he shared. Apart from studies, singing and digital drawing are Chetan’s hobbies and takes interest in water colouring too.
