Health and Family Welfare Minister Dhani Ram Shandil said the government would make 600 recruitment of different categories to ensure quality healthcare to the people.

Replying to a query by Lahaul Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana during the question hour in the Assembly today, Shandil said efforts were underway to post staff in the model health institutions. “Out of the 37 posts of female health workers in Lahaul Spiti, 21 are lying vacant. Process for appointment of 200 doctors is underway,” he said.

Intervening in the debate, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu said the government is committed to providing quality health facilities in each of the model health institutes by ensuring nine staff nurses each besides OT Assistants and other para-medical staff.

Replying to a query on admission age in schools by Vinod Sultanpuri, Education Minister Rohit Thakur said students would be admitted in government schools only after attaining the age of six years.
