Caretaker Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has promised to hike the MSP of paddy to Rs 3,100 per quintal on coming to power in the state.

He maintained that the electricity bill of families having less than Rs 1.8 lakh annual income would be reduced to zero with installation of 2 kilowatt solar power panels on their rooftops at government’s expense.

Saini was addressing a public meeting in Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, the constituency of veteran Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, in Rohtak district today.

Urging the voters to let the lotus bloom in their constituency, the Chief Minister promised them record-breaking progress in return.

“You just ensure the victory of BJP candidate Manju Hooda and I will ensure unprecedented development of your Assembly segment,” he asserted.

Taking a dig at the Congress for having launched two manifestos, Saini quipped that the Congress could launch yet another manifesto before the elections.

He termed Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka as political tourists, adding that they should have brought along Robert Vadra as well.

The BJP leader said he had posed 10 questions to Hooda, but he had not been able to answer any of those till date.

He claimed that the people of Haryana would vote for the BJP in big numbers and the Congress would be put on ventilator after the announcement of election results on October 8.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also flagged off a road show of the BJP nominee on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Manju Hooda remarked that the people of the constituency had wasted 10 years in the name of one person (Hooda). This time, they should give an opportunity to the BJP to ensure the development of Garhi Sampla-Kiloi.

Curiously, BJP candidate Manju Hooda’s husband Rajesh alias Sarkari, who has been a dreaded gangster, shared the stage with the Chief Minister.

Contacted for his comments, Rohtak Superintendent of Police Himanshu Garg maintained that Sarkari was not absconding or evading arrest in any of the cases previously registered against him, adding that there was no fresh complaint or FIR against him.
