The interim Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will empower the weaker sections of society in the country, said Prem Kumar Dhumal, former Chief Minister, here today.

He said that the Budget envisioned the Viksit Bharat Mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that the Budget had made provisions for the development of the county and empowering the youth and women.

Youth to benefit

The Interim Budget has also provided additional tax relaxation for start-ups and encouraged the youth to become entrepreneurs. It will generate jobs as well. —Prem Kumar Dhumal, Former CM

Dhumal said, “The Budget has also provided additional tax relaxation for start-ups and encouraged the youth to become entrepreneurs. The Budget will help in generation of jobs as well.” He also appreciated a provision for the construction of two crore houses for the poor and providing rooftop solar power systems to one crore houses.

He said that the programme like ‘Lakhpati Didi’ would empower women in a big way. The interim Budget envisaged making the country prosperous by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added.
