What our readers say: Urgent need to take steps to improve air quality
ON my way from Rohtak to Gurugram, near Farooq Nagar, I saw smoke rising from massive farm fires in the area. The air quality index (AQI) in this area must be above 300, with residents’ eyes becoming red and irritated. Unless precautions are taken quickly, the AQI in the Delhi-NCR could rise to dangerous levels in the coming days. Ramesh Gupta, Gurugram
Open manhole near Delite cinema
The manhole near Delite Cinema on Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi, has been open for more than a month, posing a risk to both motorists and pedestrians. Although the area has been marked with barricades of the Delhi Police, the hazardous condition continues to worry residents. In view of public safety, the authorities concerned must cover this manhole at the earliest to avert accidents. Sanjay, Daryaganj
