What our readers say: Traffic congestion a nuisance
Traffic congestion is a routine affair on Manav Chowk Ambala City — the road leading to courts and various sectors. The reason being various shopkeepers display their goods on the road and customers' vehicles add fuel to fire. Another reason which leads to this situation is inadequate parking space for customers of Punjab National Bank and the absence of a traffic constable. Hardly any day passes by when there is no dispute. It is difficult for women and the elderly to cross the road easily. Heavy vehicles should not be allowed and diverted through Maharaja Aggersan Chowk-Court Road. Hope the administration will take cognisance of the issue and set things right. Gian P Kansal, Ambala
Number of stubble burning cases rise
In Haryana, Jind district tops the list with 201 cases of stubble burning and out of these 86 belong to Narwana. However, the administration has imposed fines and registered FIRs against erring farmers, yet this trend has not stopped as the AQI levels are soaring in this area. The administration should be more vigilant and stop this nuisance. Ramesh Gupta, Narwana
Untrained Saksham contractual staff
I visited the Municipal Corporation Office, Jagadhri, in September 2024, to create a new Property ID of my shop at Ansal Town, Sector 20, Jagadhri. After creating a new Property ID by contractual untrained staff of MC-Jagadhri, I noticed that the area of the shop was inadvertently mentioned by the clerk as 6300 sq ft, instead of actual area 226.07 sq ft only, as per the registry. Then the same PID was reverted to JE/MC-Jagadhri, for further action. Since then, I visited the office several times and also submitted all required documents again for area correction/updation, but they didn't bother to solve the genuine problem. The problem has been created by untrained Saksham contractual staff.
