Panipat has been plagued by stray dog menace, with locals, especially children and elderly, being scared to step out of their homes. The MC has completely failed to control the rising number of stray dogs. The civic body should launch a sterilisation programme to solve this problem. Sourabh Khurana, Panipat

COMMUTERS in various parts of city, especially near the main crossing or turning points in the city are faced with problems in movement due to encroachments. Spaces allocated for parking are occupied by vendors and hawkers. Parking of two and three-wheelers has emerged as a major bottleneck at some points like the Neelam Chowk in the NIT zone. Police and civic officials need to resolve the problem urgently. Alok Kumar, Faridabad

Residents complain of sewage overflow

Residents have often complained about the problem of sewage overflow in Panipat’s Sector 12. The sewer lines in the area have not been cleaned for many years. Similarly, the stormwater drains are also clogged, due to which the roads get inundated after light rain. Despite the problem having been raised with the authorities concerned several times, no change has taken place on ground. Anil Rewri, Panipat

Connectivity road deteriorating

THE connectivity road between Pataudi and Manesar, constructed in 2022 at a cost of ~10 crore for a 3.3 km stretch, has deteriorated within a year, with potholes appearing in several areas. This is very concerning as the masons did not use materials according to the approved specifications. The corrupt individuals responsible for this should face harsh, exemplary punishment to deter others. Subhash C Taneja, Gurugram
