Shortage of doctors at dist hospitals a concern
THE severe shortage of doctors at district-level hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres in Kaithal has become a major concern for patients. Despite repeated promises, both current and previous governments have failed to address the issue effectively. Of the sanctioned 55 doctor positions, only 13 are currently filled. In a particularly troubling development, the only gynaecologist in Kaithal left her position on September 30 after giving notice, leaving no lady doctor available to attend to women patients and expectant mothers. The authorities must take immediate action to fill these vacancies. Satish Seth, Kaithal
Garbage burning worsens air pollution
IN Panipat, garbage is being openly burned near the drain adjoining SDVM School on the main road of Sector 11/12, contributing to severe air pollution. Heaps of garbage are seen on both sides of drain number 2, and in the morning, the garbage is set on fire. With the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) soon implementing the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to curb air-polluting activities, it is crucial for the Municipal Corporation and local administration to stop this harmful practice immediately. Gaurav Leekha, Panipat
