THE entrance to the busy local bus stand in Shimla has been in a pitiable condition for a long time. I could not take a picture despite waiting for almost 20 minutes, such is the continuous flow of buses! The large dilapidated chunk of road at the entrance poses a threat to the thousands of passengers rushing to catch the bus. Buses entering at the same time make matters worse. Isn't it the responsibility of HRTC to maintain the bus stand that is under its control? Jawahar Kaul, New Shimla

Roadside parking irks drivers

VEHICLES are parked on sides of roads in many parts of Shimla, which leads to unnecessary traffic jams. This further leads to delay for commuters, which is especially inconvenient during emergency situations. The police should take action against those who park their vehicles on sides of roads. Neelam, Shimla
