In many areas of Sirsa, the electric meters installed on power poles are placed so low that even children can access them. Worse, in numerous colonies, these meter boxes are left open by officials of the Electricity Department after they take down the readings, creating potential hazards. Residents of Noharia Bazaar have already lodged complaints with the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), but no action has been taken so far. There is a growing demand to install these meters at a safe height, particularly out of the reach of children, to prevent any accidents.

Monkeys a nuisance for Sonepat residents

MONKEYs have become a major source of nuisance for the residents of Sonepat as they live under a constant scare. It has become almost impossible for people to step out of their houses alone near the HSVP park in Sector 14, as groups of monkeys are always sitting on the walls and gates of the park or on the cars parked around it. The newly elected MLA, Nikhil Madan, who has also served as the Mayor, should take effective action immediately.
