What our readers say: MC fails to shift ILLEGAL dairies
UNAUTHORISED dairies are not being shifted from the residential areas of the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. Usually, the drives started by the MC authorities to shift the dairies are stopped after some action is taken in the matter. The authorities should take note of the problem to ensure that it is resolved on priority.

Viral disease-related deaths on the rise
The increase in deaths due to viral diseases in Haryana is a matter of great concern. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry in the Lok Sabha, 26 deaths occurred in the state due to swine flu in 2024. The figure is the highest since 2018. Similarly, 30 deaths occurred due to viral hepatitis, while eight occurred due to dengue and three due to typhoid during the same period. The Health Department should take preventive measures to prevent the spread of these deadly diseases to protect the lives of the people.

Ambala park paints a picture of neglect
The municipal park of Sector 9, Ambala City, towards the railway corridor is in a shambles. The swings are broken and benches uprooted. For quite a long time, no plants have been watered, which has led to serious loss of greenery. The land is uneven and has potholes. The monitoring and supervisory staff have failed to ensure the maintenance of the park. I hope the administration would take cognisance of the matter.
