THE indisciplined movement and operation of autorickshaws and e-rickshaws in the city have become major contributors to traffic congestion and bottlenecks for commuters. With no designated stops for these vehicles, they often halt randomly on the roads, causing not only traffic blockades, but also increasing the risk of accidents. The lack of regulation has led to many autorickshaws disregarding traffic rules, engaging in overspeeding and reckless driving, which creates further problems for other commuters. The police department should take measures to regulate or curb the movement of such vehicles to ensure public safety. —Rakesh Kashyap, Faridabad

Congestion at Kalindi Kunj bridge causing delays

Commuters travelling from Noida to Delhi many a time experience severe congestion at the Kalindi Kunj bridge, with delays averaging 50 to 60 minutes during the evening rush hour. Despite the presence of traffic police, commuters express frustration over the lack of effective solutions to the ongoing traffic jam. Local residents are urging the authorities concerned to take immediate action to alleviate the situation and improve traffic flow in the area, which has become increasingly problematic for daily travellers. —Rajesh, Dilshad Garden

Packs of stray dogs can be seen in every street, road and on all chowks in the residential areas of the city. They run towards motorbikes which lead to accidents. Dog bite cases have also increased in the city as these animals attack people. The MC authorities should work on curbing the number of dogs in the city by launching a special sterlisation programme on priority basis. —Deepak Saluja, Panipat

Concern over shifting of consumer panel

There is a lot of resentment among litigants and their lawyers pleading before the commission when the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) was shifted from the judicial complex to a rented building in Model Town a few months ago. Now it is very difficult for the lawyers and litigants to travel from the district court to appear before the commission. It is surprising that despite more than two decades having passed, the DCDRC has not yet been able to build its own permanent building. The lawyers of the District Karnal Bar Association, who appear before the Consumer Commission, have demanded from the Haryana Government and the district administration that the DCDRC must build its permanent building as soon as possible and until its construction is completed, the commission must be shifted to the judicial complex or the Mini-Secretariat at the earliest. —Shakti Singh, Karnal
