What our readers say: Garbage at Old Lakkar Bazaar bus stand
GARBAGE is being dumped at the Old Lakkar Bazaar bus stand, and has not been removed for some time. While on one hand, claims of keeping the town neat and clean are made, on the other hand, the reality remains the opposite. The authorities concerned should remove garbage from here, and should ensure that it is not dumped in public places. —Jagdish, Shimla
Vehicles near pedestrian path
MANY times, people park their vehicles at the entry and exit points to a pedestrian path here
due to which people commuting through the path have to face a
lot of inconvenience.
These vehicles block the pedestrian path, making it difficult to
cross it, especially for children and senior citizens. The police should keep an eye on people who park irresponsibly. —Umesh, Shimla
BSNL network needs to be improved
THE state BSNL should improve its signal strength and put more towers in the Panchrukhi area, Palampur tehsil, of Kangra district. People turn to BSNL plans as plans of private companies are very costly in the area. The BSNL should launch 4G services in the region so that communication facilities are made available to all sections of society, including the poor. Only then can the dream of Digital India be fulfilled. —Satish, Panchrukhi
