What our readers say: Frequent power cuts bane of residents
Residents of Ansal Town, Sector 20, Jagadhri, are inconvenienced due to frequent power cuts. On Wednesday night there was no power the whole night and the residents could not sleep as there were flashes in the high-tension line. There was tripping in the Bilaspur feeder because of the poor power system. Residents are suffering because of very poor quality electrical cables used and other devices/ installations connected with this feeder do not work properly. Several requests have been made by the residents, including officials of Ansal Housing & Construction Ltd., to arrange an independent feeder, but nothing has been done to solve the problem so far.

Shops, houses inundated in rainwater
It started raining heavily on Thursday morning and continued for two hours, which resulted in waterlogging everywhere. Shops and houses in Narwana got submerged in the low-lying area and caused massive damage to goods and properties. The Public Health Department should drain out the water with pumping sets at the earliest.
