What our readers say: Diesel autorickshaws causing pollution

A large number of diesel autos are seen at railway stations, bus stands, outside hospitals, and other crowded areas. Often, these vehicles remain stationary with their engines on waiting to be packed to full capacity before moving. Most of these autos operate illegally without necessary documents like registration, insurance, pollution control certificates, and valid driving licences. Surprisingly, traffic police take no action against these highly polluting vehicles that significantly worsen air quality. To address this issue, such vehicles should be impounded, at least until AQI levels return to normal. Ramesh Gupta, Narwana

Drain being used as garbage dump

A drain near the bus stand in Ambala Cantonment is being used as a dustbin as a huge quantity of garbage dumped by the local shopkeepers can be seen floating in it. Daily hundreds of commuters take buses from here and the view of this open drain presents a poor picture of Ambala. The Municipal Council should ensure proper collection of garbage. Yogesh, Ambala

Monkeys creating scare, chaos

M onkeys have become a major challenge for the residents of Karnal city. Nowadays, monkeys can be seen in Old Housing Board Sector 13 damaging property and creating chaos. Their aggressive behaviour is causing injuries and creating a fear among residents. The Karnal Municipal Corporation should take steps to address this major issue. – Sanjay, Karnal
