What our readers say: Charging freight in government buses a must
The decision of charging freight in government buses is a must as passengers are forced to travel standing while apple boxes and other goods are kept on seats. In the rural areas, where the number of buses is limited, it is a matter of a great concern. Excess freight should not be allowed to be kept on bus seats. Buses are for the convenience of passengers and not to ferry goods. The government should limit carrying freight in buses so that passengers are not hassled. Sonam, Udaipur
45 years on, link road yet to be built
Despite the foundation stone of the Talada-Kullagad link road having been laid thrice in 45 years, the stretch in the Sainj valley has not been constructed yet. Under the CM’s rural road scheme, a seven-km stretch was to be constructed to connect the villages of Bhalan Panchayat. However, due to lack of budget, the construction work is hanging fire.
