Rohtak, February 3

In a major revelation, JJP leader Digvijay Chautala stated that their party had first approached former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for the formation of the government in the state after the Vidhan Sabha elections of 2019, but had to turn to the BJP due to his lukewarm response.

He was responding to Hooda’s contention that the JJP, which had opposed the BJP regime tooth and nail during its campaign for the 2019 elections, approached the BJP to be part of the government.

Addressing a public meeting at Kharkara village in the district today, Digvijay said he had told his brother Dushyant Chautala that they should back Hooda as they had got votes by campaigning against the BJP.

“Dushyant gave me and Dr KC Banger a free hand to talk to Hooda and extend support to him if he had the support of the independent MLAs. We called up Hooda, but he did not have the support of the Independent MLAs by then and his response was also discouraging,” said the JJP leader.
