Waste management plant inaugurated

Nabha, August 6
At Dargapur village in Nabha block, a Solid Waste Management Project built at a cost of Rs 6.86 lakh by the Panchayati Raj Department and the Water Supply and Sanitation Department in collaboration with the RoundGlass Foundation, was dedicated to the villagers today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner for Rural Development, Dr Harjinder Singh Bedi, who arrived to inaugurate these projects, said that solid waste pits have been made, and a project to collect garbage from each household was also dedicated to the villagers to keep the village clean.
ADC Bedi stated that this project will keep the village clean and provide relief from diseases to the people. He mentioned that the government’s vision is to make all the villages of the district clean and provide urban-like facilities.
During this event, the RoundGlass Foundation provided carts, dustbins, medical kits, and other necessary items to operate this project. A workshop was also held for the villagers on the proper management of solid and wet waste, and they were made aware of the correct ways to dispose of waste.
