New Delhi, February 13

Walmart has sourced goods worth over $30 billion from the Indian market in the last two decades for its global operations, said Walmart Inc executive vice-president Andrea Albright on Tuesday.

The company in 2020 announced that it will triple its exports — then at $3 billion — to $10 billion by 2027. On a visit to Bengaluru in May last year, Walmart president and CEO Doug McMillon indicated that the company was on course with its earlier announced intention of exporting goods worth $10 billion from India annually by 2027.

Walmart announced Vriddhi Supplier Development Programme in 2019 to accomplish this aim. It has so far trained 50,000 people.
