Nahan, August 23

A comprehensive voter list verification drive has been launched across all five Assembly constituencies — Pachhad (SC), Nahan, Shri Renuka Ji, Paonta Sahib and Shillai — in Sirmaur district. The start of the exercise, aimed at ensuring accuracy in electoral rolls, was announced by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta.

Booth level officers (BLOs) have been tasked with visiting every household in respective polling areas. They would verify the entries in the photo electoral rolls. The door-to-door verification process will continue until September 8.

During this period, the BLOs will collect information to ensure that all eligible family members are correctly listed on the electoral rolls. If there are discrepancies, these will be rectified by using Form-8.

The verification process is based on the eligibility date of October 1. The BLOs will also identify eligible citizens, who have been left out of the voter lists, ensuring that their names are included in the updated rolls.
