Vote for change not exchange, says Goyal
Accusing both the BJP and Congress of looting Gurugram for 20 years, Independent candidate Naveen Goyal has urged voters to elect a common man like him. Goyal, who has been making waves and posing a serious challenge to BJP candidate Mukesh Sharma, claimed that both parties had failed Gurugram, and people were looking for change, not just an exchange of power.
“They are all the same. First, the Congress sold Gurugram to builders and criminals, and then the BJP turned the millennium city into a living example of civic decay. If you look at their manifestos, they seem like replicas — both parties have mastered the art of fooling people. Neither of them offers practical solutions. Gurugram must break this cycle and vote for real change, not just a reshuffling of the same old faces,” said Goyal.
He accused the Congress and BJP of diverting Gurugram’s funds — first to Rohtak for 10 years and then to Karnal for another 10. Goyal promised that, if elected, he would ensure the city’s funds are used for the city’s development.
He revealed that he had presented the BJP with his vision for Gurugram, which led to the party sidelining him. “They had no genuine intention of developing the city and would often stop me from discussing infrastructure or promising any real development. I had offered my support and even secured commitments from industrialists and traders to contribute to the city’s development. But the party was never interested in infrastructure or giving any guarantees,” Goyal said.
Goyal has been making dedicated efforts to penetrate the BJP and Congress strongholds by conducting door-to-door meetings with the community.
