Villages in Lahaul-Spiti receive 4G connectivity boost
In a significant development for the remote Pin Valley of Lahaul and Spiti district, Mud village was successfully connected to 4G services yesterday, marking a major step forward in improving communication infrastructure in the region. The new service, launched by BSNL, has been met with relief from the villagers, who had struggled with limited connectivity. They expressed gratitude to CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi, and Lahaul and Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana.
The lack of reliable communication in Mud village had been a challenge. Residents found it difficult to stay in touch with family and friends outside the village, which often left them feeling isolated. With the introduction of 4G services, the villagers can now enjoy high-speed internet and mobile connectivity, transforming both their personal and professional lives.
MLA Anuradha Rana emphasised the state government’s commitment to expanding communication services in remote areas across Himachal Pradesh. “Strengthening connectivity in tribal and far-flung villages is essential for the development and well-being of these communities. The launch of 4G services in Mud village is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure in the region,” said Rana. —
