The Mehatpur police have booked a villager for violating an order issued by a public servant after he was found burning paddy stubble in the fields. Investigating Officer (IO) Jaswinder Singh said the suspect has been identified as Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Baghela village under the Mehatpur police station. He said the police received a satellite report showing the burning of paddy stubble at Baghela village. Upon reaching the location, the police sought information regarding the owner and cultivator from the revenue patwari, who confirmed the suspect had violated an order issued by the Jalandhar DC.
