Video of land suddenly rising in Haryana stuns netizens

An undated viral video clip showing a piece of land rising from a water body somewhere in Haryana has left netizens stunned.

The 1:58 minute video was first shared on a Facebook page called Jagat Vani. A man is heard saying in the background: “This is a new experience…We have no idea what’s happening”.

The video has since got 6.2 M views and has generated much debate in the comment section.

“These things happen due to tectonic activities. It’s very dangerous to stay here. Maybe some volcanic activity happened,” a user wrote.

“Not really due to tectonic activity, but methane trapped in the earth gets released getting the wet layer to form a bubble. That is what seems to be happening here,” a second said. 

This view seems to be seconded by another.

“Methane gases build up under the earth will force the soil to create a giant bubble. If someone lights a fire, it may ignite,” another user said.
