While highlighting the work done during his tenure as MLA in Ambala City, he is strongly raising the issue of unemployment and the long-pending issue of Industrial Model Township (IMT) in Ambala City.

During the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government, Venod Sharma had got the project announced for Ambala but after the protests of Opposition and infighting in the Congress, the project was shelved.

The establishment of IMT has been a major poll issue in Ambala. While Venod Sharma had been raising the demand to establish an IMT here for several years, Minister of State and Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel had also raised the demand with the government and the BJP had also approved the project in 2022. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has also announced to establishment of an IMT if voted to power.

After being elected to Rajya Sabha, Haryana Jan Chetna Party’s chief Venod Sharma’s son Kartikeya Sharma had raised the issue of IMT at various platforms including the Rajya Sabha.

However, during the Lok Sabha election and the previous Assembly election, Venod Sharma had extended support to the BJP in Ambala. He is expected to contest the upcoming Assembly election from Ambala City.

While seeking public support, the former Union Minister said, “Industrial Model Township was a major project for Ambala but the project was shelved. An IMT was established in Rohtak and thousands of people are working there. If the Ambala IMT project was not shelved, thousands of Ambala residents would have also got employment. I will continue to strive for the development of Ambala and if given an opportunity, I will get the long-pending project completed. It will not only generate employment, but will give a boost to industry and develop Ambala at a rapid pace.”

Meanwhile, the BJP has decided to hold a Jan Ashirwad Rally on Wednesday to kick-start its election campaign. Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini will address the rally. Minister of State for Transport and Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel held a meeting with the party leaders regarding the rally.
