Varsity teachers’ union submits memo to Haryana CM
Sirsa, July 6
Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) is grappling with a financial crisis because of the delay in the disbursal of funds from the government. The delay is causing significant distress among employees who await their salaries. Additionally, other operations at the university have been affected. This crisis was brought to the notice of CM Saini on Wednesday by the CDLU Employees’ Welfare Association.
The CM was on a tour of Sirsa and took part in programmes organised on the university campus. During this visit, the non-teaching staff met him under the banner of the employees welfare association and submitted a memorandum. They said the university had not received its budget due to which the staff, both permanent and temporary, were not being paid. They urged the CM to sanction an immediate release of the university’s budget. They also emphasised the need for creating new positions for teaching and non-teaching staff to fill vacant posts in various academic departments/colleges of the university, among other demands.
