Bajrang Garg, national president of the Vaishya community and provincial president of the Haryana Vyapar Mandal, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the government’s delay in starting the promised excavation of Maharaja Agrasen’s palace at Agroha Dham.

Despite the government’s earlier announcements, the project is yet to commence, causing frustration among the community members. Garg made these remarks during a press conference following a meeting with representatives of the Vaishya community in Sirsa.

Garg also announced that Agroha Dham would host a grand annual fair on November 10, with lakhs of people expected to attend from across the country. Recent developments at Agroha Dham include two new museums dedicated to Maharaja Agrasen, built at a cost of Rs 30 crore, and a 1,300-seat auditorium.

Highlighting further issues, Garg pointed out the lack of progress on the railway line connecting Hisar, Agroha, and Sirsa, which was approved in the Central Government’s Budget. This delay has caused widespread discontent, especially as thousands of pilgrims visit Agroha Dham daily and around 3,000 patients receive treatment at Agroha Medical College. The absence of basic infrastructure, including the railway line, continues to inconvenience travellers.

Garg urged the government to consider developing an industrial zone and textile hub in Agroha, emphasising that many Vaishya industrialists are ready to invest in the area. Such development would create significant employment opportunities and contribute to the region’s economic growth. He reiterated the deep cultural and religious significance of Agroha Dham to the Vaishya community, as it was once the capital of Maharaja Agrasen.
