New Delhi, February 11
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth will on Monday witness the rollout of India’s Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius, stated an MEA release.
India’s cultural and people-to-people linkages with Sri Lanka and Mauritius will ensure that the launch will benefit a cross-section of people through a faster and seamless digital transaction experience and enhanced digital connectivity between the countries, it added. The launch will enable availability of UPI services for Indian nationals travelling to Sri Lanka and Mauritius as well as for Mauritians travelling to India.
