Ambala, July 9

AAP senior state vice-president Anurag Dhanda has claimed that the BJP government had imposed an undeclared emergency at Shambhu by closing the interstate border.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said: “On the directions of former CM and Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the farmers were stopped from marching to Delhi. Some of them lost their lives. The government has been trying to suppress their voice by registering cases and putting farmers behind bars. In Ambala, a young farmer, Navdeep Singh, has been in jail for over three months, just because he participated in the agitation and raised farmers’ issues. He has been arrested under fake charges.”

“An undeclared emergency has been imposed by the government at Shambhu. The interstate border has been lying closed for the past several months, causing inconvenience to commuters and residents. The farmers have nothing to do with the Haryana Government. They want to go to Delhi to raise their demands, but the BJP government is not allowing them to. Local businessmen have been suffering heavy losses and transporters and commuters are forced to take alternative routes,” he said.

“The BJP is trying to pitch farmers against businessmen. The AAP extends its support to the farmers and businessmen. The government should open the Shambhu border,” he said.
