Una, August 31

As part of ‘Samarth’, a new initiative launched by the Una district administration for the overall development of youth, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal yesterday announced a new component, under which financial assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh would be provided to girls belonging to the weaker sections of society for pursuing coaching for medical entrance and UPSC examinations.

Lal said the initiative would ensure that lack of funds do not come in the way of meritorious girl students’ aim of securing seats in the medical colleges and joining the civil services.
